2021 was once again dominated by the pandemic. While we slowly returned to normality in Germany, COVID-19 had a devastating impact in the Global South: Hunger, poverty and millions of coronavirus patients shaped everyday life there.
This was also reflected in our work. For example, we organized the transport of 100,000 rapid coronavirus tests from Eschwege to Kathmandu in Nepal. Here, we worked closely with the German Embassy in Nepal and several NGOs. We also coordinated the transportation of relief supplies and masks for NGOs to refugee camps at the EU’s external borders during the pandemic.
We implemented other important projects independently of coronavirus: We carried out eight sea freight transports to Mozambique for “Malawi Goodlife”. We also took part in the AirKules Innovation Workshop, where we worked with partners in Brandenburg to test innovative ways of using a CargoLifter balloon for humanitarian aid transports.
In 2021, we were able to realize many projects to help people around the world and develop logistics solutions that really make a difference.
